What We've Been Up To...
Updated March 2006
The Whole Family
Kim Possible - Need I Say More?!
Our family's favorite series EVER, Kim Possible was brought to a finale last year with the final movie "So the Drama." While our hearts were broken, we have reverted to watching re-runs both on Disney Channel, iTunes and our Video and DVD collection.
During Thanksgiving of 2005, a load of fans around the world bombarded Disney with emails, faxes, phone calls and any other methods of communications possible. Their voices were heard and we rejoiced to find out we get another 21-episode season, with confirmation that Christy Carlson-Romano (the voice of Kim Possible) and Will Friedle (the voice of Ron Stoppable) will be returning. We hope the rest of the incredible voice talents will also be returning.
Gaming and Performing
Aside from that, we love to play Gamecube and Computer Games together (Mommy will only play the driving ones with us. hehe!) and spend time together. The kids love to ham-it-up and give us many live performances in our living room. Brennan has had quite the compliments from family and friends about his being a "Bon-Diggity Dancer."
Song and dance include many of their favorite Primary Songs from Church.
Individually...
Jeff
Jeff is working for Atmedica USA building healthcare websites and other software in ASP.NET/C#. He works with a great crew and is enjoying it very much.
On the off hours, Jeff is spending time with his ultra-cute family and attending to Church responsibilities.
Jeff often sacrifices sleep to update his own websites and to sometimes play video games. The kids are really liking the video games too, and we play as a family when time permits.
Jeff's current favorites:
- Motocross Madness 2
- TrackMania Nations (It's completely free!!! Go download it!)
- Age of Empires III
- MX vs. ATV Unleashed
Jeff doesn't get to watch TV often, but he makes time for the best show ever made... (did I mention EVER?!) Kim Possible. He and the kids watch it every opportunity they get.
Jeff is currently on the Jordan High Alumni Association Board and is running their website as well as his own Jordan Alumni.com and one for the Class of 1991, his graduating class. They're celebrating their 15-year reunion this year and he's really excited about that.
Gwen
Gwen is enjoying being a stay-at-home mom. After 10 long years of waiting, we were finally able to score her a vehicle of her own, so the family no longer has to scrunch into Jeff's tiny "mirth mobile" (Mazda 323 hatchback) and suffer the lack of air-conditioning. She's now sporting a sexy Mazda MPV that she enjoys very much.
In her spare time, (what's that?!) Gwen loves to read, cross-stitch, and bakes the best cookies this planet has ever known. (Think I'm bragging, just ask anyone that's ever tried them...)
Gwen also recently accepted the call to serve as the Primary 2nd Counselor in our Church ward. She just finished serving as a music time teacher and loves working with the children. She's excited to be able to spend time with Brennan and Mandi in Primary each week at church.
Brennan
Brennan is doing wonderful with his AR (Accelerated Reading) reading program. He went from barely reaching his goals at the first deadline, to surpassing two goals and working on a third before the second deadline.
He is a champion speller at school and an absolute whiz at math. He loves to play Flash Cards and has an amazing knack for memorizing things (when he wants to.) :)
Brennan's current loves are anything Star Wars, anything Video Games and High School Musical; one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies ever.
Mandi
Mandi constantly amazes friends and family with her advanced ability to read. Knowing what their school's level of reading is average for 2nd grade readers, she's definitely above and beyond that. She, like Brennan, has a photographic memory. We review shapes often and she can name all kinds of polygons (some of her favorite are Pentagon, Octagon, Trapezoid and Parallelogram.
Mandi is infatuated with learning. She loves to go to preschool and primary (she even tries to convince Mommy and Daddy to let her go when she's sick!) She loves to sit with Brennan when he does his homework and often learns right alongside him.
Mandi's current loves are:
- Dora the Explorer (How can you not love Dora?! "¡Lo hicimos!")
- Care Bears
- Hello Kitty
- Strawberry Shortcake
(It's amazing to see how all that cool stuff from the 80's is coming back... It was the decade of creativity!)
Kimmi
Kimmi is just about walking. She can crawl as fast as a speeding bullet (faster when you need to catch her) and pulls herself up to anything she can get her hands on. She's discovered how to "help" Mommy and Daddy by finding every cabinet and drawer and making sure she cleans them all out.
She gives wonderful kisses and loves and her smile brightens up any room. She sometimes can say "Mama" and "Daddy" but it's a rare privilege right now. Anyone that has heard her giggle knows it is infectious and induces laughter in anyone within earshot.
